Progress formed 5 years ago with the merger of the band Tone Color Massive and the artist Innate. Both with having spent most of their lives living for music. Together they grew to encompass many funky styles, from Blues, to hip hop, rock and latin carib. The brotherhood gained through the music carries the intent behind the sound. With their eclectic mix of styles and personalities they have played over 75 shows throughout New York City in the past 3 years. The philosophy is the groove, both in work and in music, they play for the steps forward. Its music with a conscious, told with a sense of humor. Looking at life through the perspective of the outsider. Both carrying the weight of the past, the hope of the future and.... tacos

lyrics

The whole damn thing a joke
you fucking idiot
Vote or die
who and why
they illegitimate
Can't blame the youth
Cuz we just living it
Smoke about a pound a day
And I drink a bit
Not in the game cuz I choose to sit
Y'all don't know how to play
You always fighting shit
They cheat cuz they know they're gonna lose
Busters

Uplifter,
They call this one the uplifter
and when the world gets tight
I won't let you fall

They wrapped you up real nice
for being an empty box
A waste of time
In a world of clocks
Nice to hear
But nothing to watch
Guns and hoes
Guns and hoes
It's not what you say
Its how you talk
Would I be fly if I held my cock when I walk
If I outlined you in chalk
I ain't no snitch
Can I smack my bitch
Will it make me rich
If I play into your steroioio

Uplifter,
They call this one the uplifter
and when the world gets tight
I won't let you fall

Uplifter,
They call this one the uplifter
and when the world gets tight
I won't let you fall

Baby don't like to smoke
But she'll take a drink
Met when we was young
Or so I think
Separated for a long time
Lifes winding road
Gave her heart to many men
They say they lover her then
They can't remember when they met
Memories just end
We both aged
I work like a slave from dawn to dusk
Who can I save with my

Uplifter,
They call this one the uplifter
and when the world gets tight
I won't let you fall

Uplifter,
They call this one the uplifter
and when the world gets tight
I won't let you fall
